These terms govern your use of Broken Bot (brokenbot.tech), a research and training tool run by Yulia Winslow, an individual based in New York, USA (“I” or “me”), and part of Terra Incognita. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Broken Bot.
Broken Bot is a game built around fast, instinctive reactions to what it puts in front of you. It's designed for research into associative and cognitive patterns, and for training. It is not a medical, psychological, diagnostic, or therapeutic service, and nothing it produces is professional advice.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Broken Bot or create an account. By using the site, you confirm that you are 18 or older. The content can be intense or provocative by design, and some material is intended for adults.
You can play a round with other people on one screen. When you do, you're the account holder and you're responsible for the round: everyone playing must be 18 or older, and what they type is recorded and handled exactly as your own responses are, under the Privacy Policy. Don't hand your account to anyone else to use on their own.
Broken Bot lets you invite people to play a round with you through a link. They're your guests: they don't need accounts.
Before the round begins, your guests are asked to agree to how their responses are handled, including their answers to questions after the round, and that agreement is recorded. You can't agree on their behalf, and you can't play a round on someone's behalf or under their name.
When you invite someone, you're responsible for making sure:
You choose what to record about your guests — real name, nickname, a number, nothing at all. What's recorded, and who can see it, is described in the Privacy Policy.
Statistics and readings describe one round. They are experimental, and parts of them are produced by an AI model. They aren't based on established or validated science, and they aren't a clinical or psychological assessment. They describe how someone reacted under the conditions of this game, and at most how they may react under similar ones. They say nothing about whether a business will succeed, or about how someone will run one. Treat them as one input among many, never as a substitute for your own judgment or your own due diligence. What you do with them is your responsibility, including complying with any law that applies to how you evaluate people.
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and let me know at hello@yuliawinslow.com if you suspect unauthorized use. I may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, or violate these terms.
Accounts are created by arrangement — there's no sign-up and nothing to buy on the site. The terms of your access, including any fee, are whatever we agree separately; where they differ from this section, what we agreed applies.
When using Broken Bot, you agree not to:
Round limits exist to prevent abuse and dependency; circumventing them is a violation of these terms.
You keep ownership of the responses you submit. By submitting them, you grant me permission to store and process them to operate the service and to study associative and cognitive patterns, including in aggregated or anonymized form. How responses are handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Broken Bot, its game material, the frameworks behind it, text, and design are owned by me and protected by applicable law. You may use the service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not copy, reproduce, or build on the game material, frameworks, or content without permission.
Broken Bot relies on third-party service providers — for hosting, data storage, analysis, and analytics — to function. The specific providers are listed in the Privacy Policy. Their availability and their own terms are outside my control, and I'm not responsible for their acts or omissions.
Broken Bot is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. I don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that statistics, a reading or anything else it produces is accurate or meaningful for any particular purpose. Statistics and readings are experimental, and parts of them are produced by an AI model: they aren't based on established or validated science, it isn't a clinical or psychological assessment, and it says nothing about whether a business will succeed or how someone will run one.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Broken Bot. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid (if any) for access in the twelve months before the claim.
I may update, change, or discontinue the service or these terms at any time. The effective date above shows the latest version, and continued use after changes means you accept them. You can stop using Broken Bot at any time and ask to close your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts located in New York, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
